Pleasure of Your Company Therapy Dogs, Inc

What Is A Therapy Dog?

Therapy dogs visit nursing homes, hospitals, hospice, and other facilities in an attempt to offer comfort, companionship, and a better quality of life for individuals. They also visit schools and libraries to encourage children to read. Handlers and their therapy dogs make people feel less lonely and depressed. They also offer entertainment and a welcome distraction from pain and infirmity. It is proven that people with animals in their lives, even those that are just visited on a regular basis, are more cheerful, better adjusted, and even enjoy a better state of overall health.

POYC strives to increase the number of well-mannered, well-trained therapy dogs and handlers visiting in the Lehigh and Wyoming Valley areas. We also endeavor to educate the public about the benefits of therapy dogs in the community.
